Apremdo Divisional Chief Nana Egya Kwamena XI has requested of the Chief Justice to ensure that the Judicial Service guarantees the widespread dissemination of information on verified petitions filed against its personnel.

When Chief Justice Gertrude Sackey Torkonoo opened the new Effia Kwesimintsim Municipal Assembly (EKMA) Court, Nana Egya Kwamena XI made the request in an attempt to bring justice closer to the Municipality’s citizens.
“We hear cases of unprofessionalism by some very few judicial services staff who taint the image of the Ghana Judicial Service,” the Divisional Chief said.
He expressed regret that there were no clear complaint procedures in place within the legal system, which would have made it easier for victims to file complaints against any judge or court employee who, in the course of their official duties, made any unlawful demands in order to have that person or group of people disciplined.
With the exception of Burma Camp, Apremdo is the only town in Ghana that has granted permission for the government to build two military barracks: the Air Force and 2BN Army barracks, according to Nana Egya Kwamena XI’s land problems
But because our grandfathers gave the government permission to use these lands to safeguard Ghana’s airspace and landmasses, with the understanding that compensation would be given to the subsequent governments in turn.
In addition, he stated, “We hope the Ghanaian Judicial Service will be responsive enough to hear cases on time, given that Apremdo is giving lands to promote the administration of justice to the people of Ghana.” He claimed that the situation had caused tension between the families and the military units for land encroachment among many other reasons.
