The mother of former President of Ghana, Jerry John Rawlings, Victoria Agbotui who was reported dead on September 24, has been laid to rest.
The mother of the founder of Ghana’s current largest opposition party was laid to rest at Dzelukope, her home town in the Volta Region, on Saturday, October 24 after an all-white burial service was held in her honour at the forecourt of the State House in Accra and another at the Keta School Park in the Volta Region.
The ceremony was graced by dignitaries including the President of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo-Addo and wife, Rebecca Akuffo-Addo, his Vice, Mahamadu Bawumia, members of the National Democratic Congress, the Clergy, the Diplomatic corps, government official, leaders and representatives of the various political parties as well as members of the ruling New Patriotic Party.
Traditional leaders from the Volta and the Ashanti Region were also heavily represented.
