South West Ghana Conference of the Seventh Day Adventist Church launches silver jubilee – Skyy Power FM
The South West Ghana Conference of the Seventh Day Adventist Church over the weekend launched its silver jubilee and homecoming at its headquarters in Sekondi on Saturday, January 6.
The historic and colourful event was attended by almost all district pastors and elders at the conference.
Addressing the congregation, the president of the conference, Pastor Kwakye Adeefe listed the process of celebrating the silver jubilee across its 24 districts. The president said the main celebration will be in December at Takoradi.
He applauded his dedicated and selfless staff and recognized some pioneers whose hard work and dedication have brought light to the conference.
He added that the south ghana conference which was born in December 1997 with six thousand members, 8 districts and 9 ministers now boasts twenty-three thousand, six hundred and forty-two members, as well as twenty-four ministers as of the third quarter of 2022.
He said, the conference has added six new districts and established two new fields, these are, the west-central ghana conference and the Western North Ghana conference.
He paid tribute to his predecessors who have loyally served the institution over the past 25 years.
Nana Bentum who is the planning committee chairman said the theme for the celebration which is “celebrating 25 years of god’s goodness: keeping the faith alive” was chosen because god has been good to the conference.
He added that the climax of the anniversary will be on 2nd December 2023 at the Takoradi church and advised brethren in Christ to continue to be steadfast for the second coming of Christ.
