There is intense suffering and hardship in Ghana



Former President John Dramani Mahama says it is indisputable that the Ghanaian economy is in trouble and there is undeniable suffering and hardship all over the country.

The former president was speaking at the 50th Anniversary Celebration of the Chief of Paga in the Upper East Region, Charles Awiah Awampaga II on Monday, June 20.

Charles Awiah Awampaga II, the Paramount Chief of Pagawas was enskinned on June 20, 1972, with the skin name “Pua-Nanunga” which means “Deep waters” at the age of 23 years.

Mr Mahama also said at the ceremony that the situation has been worsened by deep-rooted corruption, growing unemployment, decadence, nepotism and glaring incompetence.

He further added that the general consensus is that our country is moving in the wrong direction.
