The General Manager of Goldfields Tarkwa Mine, says the company wants to create value beyond mining.
He said though the core mandate of the company is to mine, they also have a responsibility to make sure that people in their catchment areas are appreciated.
Mr Steven Osei Bempah said this when they engaged the media in their cooperative social responsibilities.
He said they are mindful of the impact of their activities on the environment and they will make sure that the communities become part of their success.
Among the flagship projects initiated by the company are the 2 storey building girls dormitory for Huni Valley Senior High School, an emergency ward at the Apinto Government Hospital and the ongoing Tarkwa Sports Stadium as well as the provision of farm inputs for farmers
Mr Osei Bempah said they will continue engaging stakeholders for the development of the communities.
