The National Road Safety has revealed that 374 total road crashes were recorded from January to June 2023.
This shows a 6% rise in road accidents compared to the first quarter of 2022 where 354 accidents were recorded.
According to the statistics, these crashes involve 678 vehicles of all categories and 442 casualties comprising of 62 fatalities and 380 injuries.
As indicated in the statistics, the region recorded an increase in cases reported, vehicles involved, persons killed, persons injured and a slight decrease in persons knockdown in 2023 compared to the same period of 2022.
