Western Region will increase presidential votes and win additional seats for NPP – OKT – Skyy Power FM

The Western Regional Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Mr Okatakyie Amankwah Afrifra says the region will increase presidential votes and win additional parliamentary seats come 2024 general elections.

Speaking on the Jolly Breakfast Show on Thursday, June 8, Mr Afrifra said they are ready to win the next elections (break the 8) which will be historic in the fourth republic.

He said they are taking this decision because they don’t want the government’s work to be hindered by parliament as it happened during the 2020 elections when each political party had 137 representatives in parliament.

He said, “We are on, and coming this Saturday, we are having a capacity building workshop for all constituency officers with the theme, “Understanding The Task Achieving The Goal of Breaking the 8.”

“We are poised to make history, for everybody to understand that when you serve the people well, they will continue to give you the nod to serve them.”

“All our constituency officers who are leaders of the party will get the tools, they have to know their duties and have to understand how the positions have to collaborate and cooperate for success.”

Speaking on the Assin North Bye-elections, he indicated that, the ongoing development in the community is not being done by the government but by contractors who abandoned their project after being tasked with it.

“I don’t believe the government waits for bye-elections before we develop communities, the government started the construction of the Assin Fosu Praso road long ago before the bye-election, so the contractor who abandoned the project has gone back to the site to continue the project due to the attention the community is attracting.”
