Akufo-Addo embarks on a day’s trip to Lagos
President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, on Monday, June 6, 2022, travelled to Lagos, Nigeria at the invitation of Alhaji Femi Okunnu, SAN, President of Metropolitan Club,
Mr Andrew Amoako Asiamah, the Second Deputy Speaker of Parliament, announced on Tuesday.
Delivering a message from the President on the floor of Parliament, Mr Asiamah said the President’s visit was to enable him to attend a Special Guest of Honour luncheon of the Metropolitan Club.
“By Article 59 of the Constitution, I write to inform you that I will be travelling outside the country on the evening of Monday, June 6, 2022, to Lago Nigeria at the invitation of Alhaji Femi Okunnu, SAN, President of Metropolitan Club to attend to a Special Guest of Honour luncheon of the Metropolitan Club,” he said.
Mr Asiamah said President Akufo-Addo would return to Ghana on the evening of Tuesday, June 7, 2022.
“In my absence, Vice President Alhaji Dr Mahamudu Bawumia shall in accordance with Article 68 of the Constitution act in my stead,” the Second Deputy Speaker quoted the President as saying.
