The Member of Parliament for the New Abirem Constituency in the Eastern Region, Mr. John Frimpong Osei has disclosed that he is unhappy despite retaining his seat in the just ended 2020 elections.
The MP said Kote ye Aboa(Penis is foolish), a community that had benefited from major developmental projects under his watch voted against him in the just-ended elections, the reason for his unhappiness.
“Kwame, will you believe people of Kote ye Aboa voted against me? Etwe nim Nyansa and the others voted for me but the Kote ye Aboa polling station voted against me, I got really hurt.
The Member of Parliament made the comment in an interview with Okay FM’s Adekye Abia programme on Saturday, December 12, 2020.
According to him, he did well in the elections in other surrounding communities, with exception of Kote ye Aboa where he lost massively.
I Am really hurt
“When someone has done you this good by bringing you light and added water, I even said I was going to build a community center for them, I have told you all of this. Help me to go and continue my good works, you just allowed yourselves to be lied to, it hurt,” Mr Osei Frimpong spoke in the Fanti dialect.
“Kwame, I got hurt, if I don’t say it then, am lying to you, I am hurt, if you see the way I love that community and selected them out of the lot to develop it, we even formed a very strong friendship, it really hurt”.
The MP lamented on his loss in the community adding that if the people couldn’t have remembered anything at all, they should have remembered that he brought them to the limelight and in the media.
“When they voted against me, I got very sad because, it was the same Kote ye Aboa that I visited with your late presenter, Nana Adjei Sika Pa and we did all we did. You did not remember any of these and voted against me. They say a man is indeed forgetful,” he emphasized.
Mr Osei Frimpong said, he would, however, not begrudge the community for excising their civic right but would continue to serve them as he had always done.
He expressed his profound appreciation to his constituency forgiven him another term to represent them in parliament.
Communities in Ghana bear the names of human genitals
It could be recalled that Kote ye Aboa(Penis is foolish) and its sister communities bearing the name of the human genitals came into the limelight in July 2018, when the MP first mentioned them in parliament to quiz when the communities would be connected to the national electricity grade.
The communities were Kote ye Aboa (Penis is foolish), Etwe nim Nyansa (Vagina is wise), Shua ye Morbor(Scrotum is pitiful).
The communities have seen been connected to the country’s electricity grade following the intervention of the MP.
