Ama Benyiwa-Doe: One of the most inspirational icons to have served the NDC – Mahama

The former President and the 2020 flag bearer of the opposition National Democratic Congress(NDC), Mr John Dramani Mahama has said the late Ama Benyiwa-Doe is one of the most inspirational icons to have served the party.
According to him, she was not just a politician but also a gender activist, a champion of women’s right and an embodiment of limitless courage and passion for service.
“I have received with deep sadness, news of the demise of one of the most inspirational icons to have served our party, the NDC, and this great nation. Ama Benyiwa Doe was not only a politician, but also a gender activist and champion of women’s rights”.
“She was an embodiment of limitless courage, commitment and passion for service. May her soul rest in eternal glory”.

NDC’s Ama Benyiwa-Doe passes on
Mr Mahama made the comment while reacting to the passing of the late NDC politician and stalwart in a twitter post sighted by GhanaPlus.com on Sunday, September 19.
Ms Ama Benyiwa-Doe, a former Central Regional Minister and a three-term Member of Parliament for the Gomoa West Constituency on the ticket of the NDC was reported dead on early Sunday morning.
The NDC politician who served as a Council of State member under the administration of the late President of Ghana, Evan Fiifi Atta-Mills died at age 71.
she was very vocal and a stench member of the party while in active politics.
