'Members of Parliament are behaving not better than rat' – Kwesi Pratt

Managing Editor of the Insight Newspaper, Mr Kwesi Pratt Jnr has taken a swipe at Parliament following the impasses which has characterized it proceedings in recent times.

Speaking on Good Morning Africa on Pan Africa Television monitored by GhanaPlus.com on Thursday, December 2, he said Parliament is an important medium in the country hence the development was an affront to its reputation.

Mr Pratt Jnr described the development as disreputable and imaginable adding they are not behaving any better than rat, if members of Parliament are capable of misbehaving to the extent of grabbing ballot papers and chew them.

“I think it is important to first and foremost appreciate the important of Parliament in this current dispensation. Parliament is the forum at which our future and present is decided. How we build the country, how we allocate resources and so on. It an important forum and because it is an important forum, it should not be reduce to a circus. Unfortunately over the last one year or maybe more what is happening in parliament does not give us comfort at all” he said.

“ The impression is gradually and surely we are turning parliament into circus, a funny circus. You see when you have a situation and I have said this a couple of times when members of parliament can actually misbehave to the extent of grabbing ballot paper in the chamber and chew them, those members are not behaving any better than rats,” Mr Pratt Jnr added.

Your behaviour is scandalous, unimaginable – Pratt Jnr

“They are not behaving any better than rat. Members of Parliament can grab ballot papers and chew and swallow, they are not better than rat and this is so disreputable, is unimaginable”.
