Charles Bissue declared wanted by OSP
The Office of the Special Prosecutor has declared Former Secretary to the Inter-Ministerial Committee on Illegal Mining (IMCIM), Charles Bissue wanted.
This follows the inability of Mr. Bissue to respond to an invitation. to an ongoing investigation into suspected corruption within the dissolved Inter Ministerial Committee on Illegal Mining (IMCIM)
According to The Office of the Special Prosecutor his inability to honour the invitation has obstructed the investigation and thus he has been declared wanted.
Mr. Bissue recently filed a writ at an Accra High Court to stop the OSP from prosecuting him, and subsequently failed to honor the invitation sent by the Special Prosecutor.
The ongoing investigation borders on alleged corruption involving Prof. Kwabena Frimpong Boateng, the Chairman of the IMCIM.
Mr. Bissue initiated legal proceedings in 2022 by issuing a Writ of Summons and Statement of Claim against the OSP and two others after the OSP announced the conclusion of investigations into corruption allegations made by Tiger Eye P.I. and Anas against him.
Subsequently in 2023, Mr. Bissue amended the writ and filed an injunction to restrain the OSP.
