The Member of Parliament for Assin Central Constituency, Mr Kennedy Agyapong has descended heavily on the Minister of Gender Children and Social Protection, Ms Adwoa Safo over his continues absent from her parliamentary duties.
Ms Adwoa Safo who also doubles as Member of Parliament for the Dome Kwabenya Constituency have been absent from her duties for some time now, reporting intermittently as and when is necessary, a development a section of the Ghanaian public and some members of the ruling New Patriotic Party finds it unamusing.
Some have accused her of deliberately sabotaging government business in Parliament.
Kennedy Agyapong slams Adwoa Safo
Speaking in a viral video sighted by GhanaPlus.com, the Assin Central MP who has two children with the MP chastised her for her absent.
According to him, Ms Adwoa Safo is demanding a Deputy Majority Leader position and that explains her absence from the house.
He wondered why the Minister will demand for a position lower than what she already has.
“She says she wants to be Deputy Majority Leader, that woman has failed in life. A whole Cabinet Minister now demanding that she should be made a Deputy Majority Leader before she comes, she should go to hell,” he made the claims on GTV Breaskfast Show on Monday, February 21.
Mr Agyapong noted he had endured constant insult due to Ms Adwoa Safo’s continues absence because he campaigned for her.
“You don’t come to parliament and you are on TokTok dancing? Dome Kwabenya is not for Apostle Kwadwo Safo, get it straight. I am very furious because people are insulting me because I went there to campaign for her. Mike Oquaye the Speaker, the man that I respect very well, I campaigned against his son because Adwoa used my kids, calling me and begging me to help her. And now everybody is insulting me for doing that but I have not regretted, she is very responsible when it comes to the kids.”
“More than fifteen days and the law says fifteen days” he said when asked how many days the MP have absent.
Mr Agyapong answered in the affirmative when asked if Ms Safo’s seat should be declared vacant.
