NPP executives pulls strong support behind ASABEE on Chairmanship contest

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) constituency executives of the Central Region have declared support for Mr Stephen Asamoah Boateng on his chairmanship position contest.

The support comes after a through listening to Mr Boateng’s vision for the party in quest to break the eight when giving the nod.

“ We believe you and have worked with you before and know you will deliver, you have our support” they said.

Speaking at a short meeting when Mr Boateng visited executives in the Region they revealed that ASABEE had proven beyond doubt that he would deliver when given the mandate to represent the party to aid in their breaking the eight agenda.

They, therefore, declared their readiness to vote and support him massively to win the July contest for the betterment of the party and the delegates especially polling station executives

We support him because he has proven himself as the hope for NPP in 2024 through his works and personal relationship with the people and grassroots.”

Some Chairmen and other executives publicly endorsed the candidature of Asabeee, noting that the former Information Minister was the only one that was contesting as Chairman who had shown respect, humility, and seriousness to them by touring their areas.

They were appreciative of the show of respect and promised to reciprocate in kind by storming Accra to vote en bloc for Asabee at the National Elections on July 14, 2022.

He said through the leadership of ASABEE as an MP in Mfantseman the constituency witnessed massive development including roads, health, education, and employment for the youth.

Mr Boateng for his part said members of the NPP at the grassroots as well as Party financiers “are angry with the Party” due to what he described as “unfair distribution of opportunities.”

He said members who worked hard to secure victory for the party, had been side-lined, a situation, he added, was as a result of the lack of internal welfare to support Party members and supporters and reward them accordingly.

The National Chairman hopeful said if he was given the mandate as National Chairman for the NPP, his regime would set up a welfare policy that would ensure a fair distribution of opportunities for Party members and businessmen who invest in the Party.

Mr Boateng told delegates his seven policies to help break the eight which include strategizing structures of the party, empowering women and youth in the party.

He promised to resource party persons with logistics in a timely manner to be able to carry out their mandates and also plan effectively for party work.

Also, bridging gab between government and grassroots for effective communication, amendment of party policies to assign specific task to each executive for the growth of the party.

He revealed that his intention was building a 60/ 40 agenda which would focus on party members to have a say in the appointment of members for various positions.

Mr Boateng intended to pursue the agenda to allow the party negotiate forty percent of appointments by the party and sixty to the President and his core team.

The Aspiring National Chairman noted that ‘Breaking the Eight’ agenda was not about big English but communicating and explaining government projects to the people.

He said ensuring unity was imperative in the victory process and therefore called on party foot soldiers to be calm and support the party even in tough times because they will soon be rewarded.

Mr Asamoah Boateng said he was contesting to build the party at all levels starting from polling station to Constituency, then Regional, build finances, ensure women empowerment and youth improvement among others to help make the party stronger.

Barring any change in schedule, the NPP will hold its National Executive Elections in Accra from July 15 to July 17, 2022 to elect officers to run the affairs of the party for the next four years.

Per the Party’s constitution, the presidential candidate for the Party in the 2024 elections will be elected next year – a year to the general elections.
