Managing Editor of the Insight Newspaper, Mr Kwesi Pratt Jnr admonish citizens of the African continent to vote against leaders currently in the realm of affairs.
According to him, they have nothing to offer and must be changed if the continent has any dream of prospering.
The renowned media personality described the current leaders as useless leaders who only take bride in photo opportunities with leaders of the Western World.
“…. ultimately the way out of the problem is that we should get rid of all these useless African leaders who are offering us nothing. All these leaders who takes bride in photo opportunities with Macron and Boris Johnson and who else. These are our problem,” Mr Pratt Jnr made the comment on Pan African TV‘s Good Morning Africa on Thursday, July 28 monitored by GhanaPlus.com.
“It is the African leaders who have betrayed the Congo. It is the African leaders who have betrayed African interest. It is the African leaders who are responsible for the current situation of poverty on the continent. For the very high levels of exploitation and deprivation on the continent. Let change these leaders,” he added .
According to him, Africa must consider visionary leaders who has the commitment of the forefathers and previous leaders of the continent.
“Let bring in new leaders with vision. New leaders who have a commitment to the programmes of Osagyefo Dr Kwame Nkrumah for total continental liberation. Let bring in new leaders like Thomas Sakara, let bring new leaders like Ahmed Sékou Touré. Our current leaders are completely useless, they have failed us. They have nothing to offer us and if we have to help restore the Congo to it dignity and so on, our target must be to remove our leaders from power,” Mr Pratt said .
Congo, political instability in Africa
Mr Pratt Jnr was speaking about the anti-UN protest on going in the DR Congo.
Protestors on Monday, July 25 set fires and forced entry into the United Nations Mission offices in Goma accusing peacekeeping force of failing to protect civilians amid rising violence in Congo’s eastern region.
BBC report said “They are calling for the U.N. forces, present in Congo for years, to leave”.
“At least 15 people were killed and dozens of others injured during two days of demonstrations in Congo’s east against the United Nations mission in the country, officials said Tuesday,” BBC reported.
Speaking on the development, Mr Pratt Jnr said Congo, an African country blessed with numerous resources enough to bring respite to the continent can only be restored to its dignity when the current African leaders are removed from power.
