Celebrating the dead more than the living is a global practice
Singer, MzVee has stated that the phenomenon of celebrating the dead more than the living is everywhere and not just a preserve of Ghana.
“Celebrating the dead more than the living is not just a Ghanaian thing but it’s everywhere and it’s a very normal thing,” she told Amansan Krakye in an interview.
According to the Ghanaian artiste, the death of Nigerian singer, Mohbad has become a topical issue due to the circumstances surrounding it.
Hundreds of young Nigerians in white shirts converged in Lagos for a candlelight procession in honour of the Nigerian musician who died mysteriously on September 12.
MzVee said on Property FM in Cape Coast “I think for that guy the circumstances surrounding his death and all that I think people were really angered by that.
“So it makes the whole issue so sensitive that people want to talk about him more than it would have been,” she added as MyNewsGh.com observed.
