Ghanaian musician, Iwan Suhyini has stated that the same artistes doing reggae dancehall genre have now switched to Afrobeats and Amapiano.

During an interview with Amansan Krakye, Iwan Suhyini was asked by the host whether reggae dancehall is gradually going down in Ghana.

He answered “Yeah what they are saying is true but they have to know that it’s the same artiste who use to make reggae dancehall vibrant are the same people who have switched to doing afrobeats.

“It looks like there is no one doing the dancehall now but when it gets vibrant again the same artistes will move from afrobeats to come and do dancehall,” he said on Property FM in Cape Coast.

“That is our problem in Ghana we keep experimenting with genres of music and when we hear that this genre is making waves then we all stop what we’re doing to focus on that.

“So it’s not like dancehall itself is dead in Ghana but the artiste themselves that we’re doing the dancehall have stop doing it and now doing afrobeats.

“Because they feel that is the trending one but for me dancehall is never dead they can never kill it because it’s huge international brand and genre which is very heavy to die,” he ended sighted by MyNewsGh.com
