FDA Ban: It’s shocking celebs like Shatta Wale didn’t show up in court
Audio Engineer, Kofi Boachie-Ansah popularly known as Beatmenace has spoken about the lack of unity of purpose among Ghanaian musicians.
He fumed over the absence of Shatta Wale and others during the court case concerning the alcohol advertisement ban on celebrities by the Food and Drugs Authority (FDA).
Speaking at Cape Coast as monitored by MyNewsGh.com during a workshop on copyrights organized by Alliance Française, he said it’s sad that the ban affects failed to show up in court.
“Recently we were at the Supreme Court to challenge the FDA for placing a ban on celebrities not to advertise for alcoholic beverages.
“When the case was called the FDA and the Attorney General failed to show up in court because they know that they have a bad case.
“So the case has been adjourned to 17th January, 2024 but unfortunately those that we’re fighting for like Shatta Wale and co. didn’t show up,” he remarked.
