I don’t need to be a singer to be recognized as a musician
Popular music figure, Smallgod known in real life as Nana Kwame Appiasei has said he doesn’t need to sing with his voice to be recognized as a musician.
“Where we’ve reached now in the music business, you don’t need to be used to singing per sey to be called a musician because there are so much aspects of music being created,” he said on the Kastle Entertainment Show.
Smallgod who was raised between Ghana, London and the Netherlands remarked that there are a lot of people who bring the whole musical vibes together but don’t sing.
“There are writers, producers, executive producers and there are so many people that brings the whole thing together so if you understand that then you understand it’s okay,” he said on Kastle FM sighted by MyNewsGh.com
Citing a typical example, Smallgod said even though DJ Khaled doesn’t sing with his voice, he’s known as musician and that’s what he’s also doing currently in the music scene.
“After all DJ Khaled doesn’t sing but he’s recognized as a musician so I’m like that and I will say that I’m the DJ Khaled of Africa not only Ghana,” he told Amansan Krakye in a one-on-one interview.
