I was never in love with my German ‘Borga’ husband
Actress Nayas, born Gladys Mensah Boaku, revealed that although she agreed to marry her German Borger husband after eight days of meeting him, she was not in love with him.
She revealed that she agreed to his proposal because he was friends with Broda Sammy’s wife and thought he would be a good person.
“I was never in love. I don’t know what made me accept marry him in the first place. To be honest, if you ask me the reason why I married him, I don’t have any reason in mind. When I look back, I can’t tell why I actually got married,” she said.
She continued ” I think I agreed to the marriage because he came highly recommended by someone and I thought that we could build the love from there”.
Nayas disclosed that prior to moving out of Ghana to join her husband, she sold her car and cameras she used for her work in Ghana.
Even though she was not assured of a job in Germany, she took the risk of going because she believed that with her attitude and never giving up spirit, she will be employed.
“I started giving up after four months of being in Germany. I was worried because my life had seen a downturn and it was drastic. If I considered how I had a good life in Ghana but now things had changed. I realized I had made a very big mistake,’ she recalled.
Nayas disclosed further that all the money she made in Germany was taken by her husband because he was not working at the time and she had to fend for them.
Nayas was married to Nana Sarfo Kantanka. However, the marriage is said to have hit a snag after the actress relocated to Germany.
