I would love to collaborate with African artistes
Multiple award-winning filmmaker, Idrissa Akuna Elba popularly known across the globe as Idris Elba has disclosed his intentions to collaborate with young musicians from Africa.
“I will love to collaborate but because I’m making films and trying to tell stories I want to open hopeful gateways for a lot of artistes to bring their music and have them in the films and tell stories about the origination of their music,” he remarked.
The English actor of African origin has stated in an interview on Opemsuo FM based in Kumasi that he would love to have music from Africans in his movies in order to tell a story.
“Whether it’s in a documentary or a it’s in storytelling because all these young rappers are also actors they also have their own story to tell so that’s how I want to unpack,” he said sighted by Amansan Krakye of MyNewsGh.com
He continued “Again this is not specific to Ghana it is specific to Africa because Africa stories have always been told outside of Africa and it’s important we start telling our stories inside of Africa from Africa”.
