Kwame Nkrumah still remains the only and true founder of Ghana

The debate over the declaration of 4th August as Founders’ Day holiday by President Akufo-Addo has attracted varying opinions from well-meaning Ghanaians.

According to popular Ghanaian singer, Ras Kuuku, so far as he’s concerned Dr. Kwame Nkrumah remains the only and true founder of Ghana and should be acknowledged as such.

“We only have one founder of Ghana and not founders because Kwame Nkrumah spearheaded everything and in this country, we ought to acknowledge him as such since he gave us the independence,” he stated.

“The way Kwame Nkrumah used to design this country that’s what making us enjoy the peace we have today and he’s the father of Ghana and he only ruled this country for about six years,” he said on the Kastle Drive Show.

He continued “Even after that short period of time the mindset he used to govern this country we can still see them like the factories, roads, schools, hospitals and a lot of things he did for this country can still be seen.

“Where can we locate Kwame Nkrumah’s house in Ghana and this should tell you that Ghana really belongs to him so who are the founders that they are talking about so the founder is only one,” he told Amansan Krakye on Cape Coast’s Kastle FM.
