Ghanaian actress, Efia Odo has disclosed that Ghanaian celebrities earn just a paltry sum for their role in the creative art industries.
The U.S based nursing assistant who relocated to Ghana some years ago said even persons who work in the popular US-based fast food restaurant, McDonalds earn better salaries than celebrities in Ghana adding that fame does not bring them any money.
“Somebody working in MacDonald’s in America makes more money than most of us celebs in Ghana. Fame brings no money; all this fame and artist are struggling” she said.
According to the Kwese TV’s host, people in the realm of affairs of the industry should all be fired for a new crop of business-minded people to take over to help end the struggle of industry players including artists and celebrities.
On her twitter handle on August 25, the actress, born Andrea Owusu wrote;
“Somebody working in MacDonald’s in America makes more money than most of us celebs in Ghana. Fame brings no money; all this fame and Artist are struggling. The people in position all need to be fired and new minded people need to be hired, we need a reset button”.
