Record labels use streaming farms to buy numbers for Nigerian artistes
Kumasi-based musician, Oseikrom Sikanii born Hansford Brefo has spoken about the impact of having solid record labels.
During a discussion on GTV about digital marketing, the rapper said most Ghanaian artistes aren’t on big record labels like the Nigerians.
He stated as MyNewsGh.com monitored “First of all Nigerians are more than us in terms of population and in Ghana how many record labels are even here in the country.
“How many solid record labels do we have here and the likes of Rema, Asake and co are being supported by record labels and not their own money.
“Most of the record labels have streaming farms to make their artistes get the numbers whenever their songs are being released so we can’t compete with them.
He remarked “As you see me I’m alone without a manager but with time we’re learning to catch up with them because they have been applying what they learnt elsewhere”.
