Stardom comes with a lot of pressure – Lawyer Nti
Ghanaian comic actor of Kejetia vrs Makola fame Lawyer Nti known in real life as Richmond Xavier Amoakoh has said being a star in Ghana is a very difficult thing because it comes with a lot of pressure and expectation from people.
According to him, people mostly family members put pressure on individuals who are famous because they have the perception that, fame comes with riches.
Speaking on Kumasi-based Ezra FM in an interview monitored by MyNewsGH.com, Lawyer Nti stated that, “there is pressure from people when you are a star. People think the moment you begin to appear on TV or radio then you are automatically filthy-rich”.
“Family members whom you have not heard from for so long will begin to call you to ask for help. And when you tell them you cannot offer the help they request then they begin to see you as bad person.” Lawyer Nti lamented to Agropapa the host in his interview.
Lawyer Nti further revealed that some individuals who first made appearances on TV, actors and actresses have created the perception that immediately you appear on screens you become automatically rich.
Therefore, the public with that notion has also created that impression, hence even when they see a new star they do not give you the opportunity to make money before making demands reason he has concluded stardom comes with pressure.
