Stop blaming us for your failures
Artiste Kidi has advised against expecting favours from people as a musician.
In Ghana, there is a penchant for artistes to blame their colleagues for their failure because they refused to feature in their song.
This is mostly seen in Takoradi where every artiste thinks Kofi Kinaata should bless their songs with a feature before they can get the needed breakthrough.
But Kidi believes that it’s imperative that musicians in Ghana take the initiatives to do things on their own and not expect handouts from established artistes.
He says if he had waited for features, he will still have been an underground artiste waiting for a breakthrough.
“Do not wait for handouts. A lot of people complain that because this artiste did not feature me that’s why I didn’t hot, I sent songs to this guy he did not do that’s why I’ve not become big. Charlie if I tell..most of my songs that have become big had features on them but it didn’t happen but they all became big.
I will not go and stand somewhere and say because this artiste didn’t feature on my song that’s why it’s not big. Churn you own path, do it and then now it will attract all those people into your path,” he said on Joy FM.
