Celebrated Ghanaian gospel musician, Joseph Oscar Nii Armah Mettle, known by the stage name Joe Mettle in the music circles has said the media is partly to be blame for the country’s musician inability to make it to the international market.
That he said was due to negative reportage made by the media about the artiste which in most cases were not true.
According to him, persons who desire to feature musicians from the country in most cases were compelled to pull back due to the controversies to save their brands reputation and that was what was responsible for the set back as far as representing the country on international platforms was concerned.
The 2017 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards Artiste of the Year made the remarks in an interview on Xpressive ON GHToday on Friday, June 11, monitored by GhanaPlus.com.
“One time I was talking to this media person who says and you don’t represent us internationally and all that and I told the guy, you like this you are part of the reasons to say that, am not saying you are the reason, am saying that you are part of the reason. When somebody want an artist to represent Ghana internationally, sometimes they check on them online, the things that have been written about them. Automatically, the people just pull away because they are like too much wahala, mean while you see most of the stuff that you said about them are not even true and when you find out that they are not true, you never come back to fix it and it stay there,” he said.
He revealed as a musician he had had several reportage made about him which were nothing but falsehood.
