2021/22 Ghana Premier League: Week 23 match report – Eleven Wonders move away from relegation zone after seeing off Accra Lions
Eleven Wonders have moved away from the relegation zone after defeating Accra Lions in matchday 23 of the Ghana Premier League.
The game ended 2-0 in favor of the Techiman-based club kind courtesy of Ibrahim Laar’s brace at the Ohene Ameyaw Park on Sunday afternoon.
Coach Prince Kwoffie side who suffered a 2-0 defeat to Elmina Sharks in mid-week ensured they bounce back to winning ways this weekend in order to keep their hopes of maintaining their Ghana Premier League status alive.
Eleven Wonders took the lead in the 19th minute through Ibrahim Laar with a beautiful strike to give the home side the opening goal.
After the break, Laar doubled Wonders lead in the 74th minute which propelled the side to victory on home turf.
Meanwhile, Accra Lions who inflicted a 1-0 win over Bibiani Goldstars in mid-week were unable to negotiate for a point at Techiman.
Accra Lions hoped for a win at away but Eleven Wonders who were in the relegation zone proved to be a tough side.
Eleven Wonders is currently out of the relegation zone after securing an important victory over Accra Lions.
They sit 15th position with 24 points whereas Accra Lions occupies 14th position with 27 points after 23 matches.
