2021/22 Ghana Premier League: Week 28 Match Report – Asante Kotoko 1-1 Aduana Stars
Asante Kotoko SC shared the spoils against Aduana Stars in the much-anticipated clash on Sunday afternoon at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi.
The Porcupine Warriors were held to a 1-1 draw in matchday 28 of the Ghana Premier League.
The two-time African Champions shot into the lead through Cameroonian import Frank Etouga Mbella in the 39th minute after latching onto a beautiful pass from compatriot Georges Mfegue.
Kotoko went for recess with a one goal lead.
After the break, both teams created numerous scoring opportunities with Mbella missing two penalties.
However, the Ghanaian giants were punished by the fire boys with Bright Adjei grabbing the equalizer in the dying embers of the game to hand his side a deserving draw at away.
He has now scored 14 goals and will hope to score more in the bid to win the goal king prize with six games to spare.
Meanwhile, Frank Mbella has bagged 19 goals and is in contention to win the top scorer.
The draw against Kotoko means, Aduana Stars have gone eight matches without a win.
Kotoko sits top of the league log with 58 points whereas the fire boys occupy 6th position on the league log with 42points.
