2022 World Cup: Teams of Ghana footballers to receive massive financial windfall for releasing Black Stars players
Teams of Ghanaian footballers will receive a huge financial windfall when they release their players to play for the Black Stars at the 2022 FIFA World Cup tournament.
The biggest soccer mundial will be staged in Qatar between November and December 2022.
Footballghana.com understands a total of $209 million (£142m) will be distributed among the clubs’ releasing players to the participating teams in the 2022 World Cup by FIFA.
However, clubs of Ghanaian players will receive £6,460-per-day when they release their players to feature for the Black Stars at the mundial.
The amount that each club receives depend on how many players are at the tournament and how far they progress.
According to FIFA, ‘a share is then passed on to the club with which the player was registered in the two years prior to one day after the elimination of his representative team.
Ghana, who sealed qualification at the expense of Nigeria has been paired against Portugal, Korea Republic and Uruguay in Group H.

The four-time African champions will hope to make impact at the mundial despite being pitted in a tough group.
