Arsenal youngster Eddie Nketiah to decide on Ghana future at end of season

Arsenal youngster Eddie Nketiah will decide his international future at the end of the season after confirming desire to feature for Ghana.

The 22-year-old on Tuesday expressed desire to represent the Black Stars but has decided to wait until the end of the season make an official statement.

Ghana FA authorities are far advanced in their move to capture the youngster from England as talks have been held already with the family of the player over the switch.

The 22-year-old’s Ghanaian team-mate Thomas Partey has also piled the pressure on the youngster who now is keen to make the move to play for the Black Stars with the 2022 World Cup in Qatar looming.

“The priority is my club situation. You have to know what you’re doing for the season. There is no point looking too far ahead when there is a big decision in your career standing in front of you”

“At the moment my full focus is on my club and sorting out things for next season. Once that is finished then I can really sit down with my family and have that discussion [Ghana]. I’m not closing the door to anything,” he added.

His inclusion in the Black Stars squad will be a plus for the West African country who seeks to make impact at the mundial.

Ghana are making their 4th appearance at the World Cup after participating in the 2006, 2010 and 2014 editions.

They will open their account against Portugal on November 24 before taking on South Korea in the second group game on November 28 and Uruguay in the last round four days later.
