Arsenal's top four hopes receive boost as Thomas Partey nears injury return

Arsenal’s top four hopes have received a major boost as Ghana midfielder Thomas Partey nears injury return after he was pictured running just weeks after picking up a thigh injury earlier this month.

The 28-year-old has been one of the standout players for the Gunners in the ongoing Premier League campaign but is expected to miss the final five weeks of the season, according his manager, Mikel Arteta.

However, Partey can be seen in photos on running machine in a social media clip shared on Monday.

Partey missed the Gunners’ Premier League defeats against Brighton and Southampton after suffering a injury to his right thigh in a reverse at Crystal Palace.

He also missed his side’s impressive 4-2 win over Chelsea at the Stamford Bridge and 3-1 win over top-four hopeful Manchester United last Saturday.

Partey has made 24 league appearances for Arsenal so far this season, scored two goals and provided one assist in the process.

The former Atletico Madrid midfielder scored in Ghana’s 1-1 draw against the Super Eagles of Nigeria during the second leg of the World Cup playoff as the Black Stars book qualification to the global showpiece in Qatar.
