Asamoah Gyan says he was confident he would score against Czech in the 2006 World Cup

Asamoah Gyan, a former Black Stars striker, claims he was so certain of scoring against the Czech Republic at the 2006 World Cup in Germany.

Ghana faced the Czech Republic in their second group encounter after losing 2-0 to Italy in their first.

Ghana shocked the world and defeated the Czech Republic, which was ranked fourth in the FIFA rankings at the time.

Asamoah Gyan stated in an interview that he felt confident in finding the back of the net.

“I was very confident. I knew something was going to happen. Back home in Ghana, everyone was praying for us,” Gyan told Asaase FM.
