Bristol City boss Nigel Pearson explains why he substituted Ghana’s Antoine Semenyo in Sheffield United stalemate

Bristol City manager Nigel Pearson has explained why he substituted Ghanaian forward Antoine Semenyo during their Championship game against Sheffield United on Monday.

The enterprising forward has been outstanding in the ongoing campaign for Bristol City, scoring 6 goals and providing 10 assists in 28 games.

He was in action on Monday when his side played a 1-1 draw against Sheffield United on home turf.

Semenyo, who assisted his side goal was substituted in the 71st minute.

Speaking after the game, Nigel Pearson disclosed he subbed off the Ghanaian attacker as a precautionary measure.

“And more for Antoine it was, he wanted to go back on but I think it was more important to protect him and we have got a very good replacement in Nahki [Wells] so it was for me a no-brainer.” He told the club’s official YouTube channel.
