Bristol City forward Antoine Semenyo ‘honoured’ after being named in Black Stars squad for 2023 AFCON qualifiers
Bristol City forward Antoine Semenyo says feel honoured after being named in the Black Stars squad for the upcoming international assignments.
The Black Stars will play Madagascar and Central African Republic in the qualifiers next month before traveling to Japan for the four-nation tournament.
Ghana coach Otto Addo earlier today released a 33-man squad for the upcoming games with the Bristol City marksman no exception.
Semenyo reacting to his call up said he is honoured to be selected among the Black Stars team.
“Feel honored to be named among these soldiers to represent mother Ghana. Let’s Do This” he posted on Facebook.
Semenyo earned his maiden Ghana call up in March for the World Cup play-off against Nigeria but had to pull out of the squad to due to injury.
He is expected to play a huge role in the Nations Cup qualifiers.
The 22-year-old scored 8 goals and provided 12 assists in 32 games in the just ended Championship campaign for Bristol City.
