CAF announce date for CHAN Algeria 2022 qualifiers draw
The TotalEnergies African Nations Championship (CHAN) Algeria 2022 draw for the qualifiers will be held on Thursday, May 26, 2022, in Cairo, Egypt.
CAF made this announcement on Tuesday evening on their official website.
The draw for the qualifiers will take place live on all CAF digital platforms at 11:00 GMT.
Algerian icon Djamal Menad, top scorer and AFCON champion with Algeria in 1990, will serve as the draw assistant, with CAF Head of Competitions Khaled Nassar.
18 teams will compete in the next final event for the first time in the competition’s history. The tournament will be held in Algeria in January and February 2023.
The TotalEnergies African Nations Championship (CHAN) is a competition that brings together players from several African regional leagues.
The last tournament, held in Cameroon in January/February 2021, saw Morocco secure the title.
