Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel says Hudson Odoi will be out for weeks
English-born Ghanaian Callum Hudson Odoi will be out for some weeks due to injury, according to Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel.
The 21-year-old has been out of action for sometime due to an injury setback.
Giving an update ahead of their clash with Southampton, the German trainer disclosed Odoi could be out for weeks not days.
“Callum Hudson-Odoi is still out and we are in a bit of doubt over Romelu [Lukaku] and Hakim Ziyech.
“They did not train on Thursday due to little problems but we need a test and confirmation at training to see if they are available for tomorrow.”
On Hudson-Odoi’s situation, he added: “It doesn’t look so good at the moment. It is not a matter of days but weeks. He started in the World Club final and had an assist in the that final.
“He was crucial on the left side, sometimes as a wing-back, but most of the time as a winger. He was growing into the season but suddenly it stopped. It is not his fault but it is an upset.”
Odoi has featured 15 times in the Premier League this season scoring just ones in the process.
He has been tipped to switch nationality and play for the Black Stars ahead of the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar later this year.
