Executive chairman of Berekum Chelsea Nana Kwame Nketia reacts to 5-1 defeat to Ashgold
Executive chairman of Berekum Chelsea Nana Kwame Nketia has reacted to his club’s 5-1 defeat to Ashgold in the Ghana Premier League.
Nana Kwame Nketia spoke amid Tuesday reports in the local media of FIFA and GFA teams questioning some players of Berekum Chelsea for match fixing.
In the Ghana Premier League matchweek 27 encounter, Ashantigold’s Yaw Annor scored 4 goals. In that same game, Chelsea played for more than 30 mins with 9 players.
Speaking to Angel TV the Executive chairman of Berekum Chelsea said:
“I was not happy with the results between us and Ashgold, I’ve had meetings with the players but I’ve not gotten any information from them so am appealing to everybody to help me out with any evidence,”
According to reports, the phones of the goalkeeper and one other player have been seized by the GFA for investigations.
Last season Inter Allies and Ashantigold made headlines for match fixing which resulted in charges. The Ghana Football Association spokesman has revealed that the case has slowed down because they are looking for more information to bring closure to the case.
