Felix Afena-Gyan wins first trophy with AS Roma
Felix Afena-Gyan won his first trophy with Roma on Wednesday evening at Albania’s Kombetare Arena in Tirana.
Nicolo Zaniolo won the game for AS Roma in the 32nd minute with a wonderful strike.
Felix Afena-Gyan did not play against Feyenoord this evening but joined his teammates to celebrate the big achievement.
Roma was tipped as the favorites coming into the game and they displayed why they were favourites throughout the game.
Felix Afena-Gyan will be playing Europa League football with AS Roma next season after Roma ended the Serie A season in sixth place which was the Europa League position.
Afena-Gyan was signed to a professional contract by Roma in March of last year and sent to the club’s junior levels for development.
He was an immediate sensation with the Primavera group and was given opportunity to play with the senior squad on occasion before making his professional debut in a Serie A match against Cagliari in October.
He also made his Black Stars debut against the Super Eagles of Nigeria during the World Cup playoffs.
