FIFA referees from Nigeria have been assigned to the WAFU 17 tournament in Ghana

CAF has nominated Kassim Abdusalam of Zamfara State Council and Hope Igho of Lagos State Council to officiate in the WAFU U-17 Tournament, which will be held in Ghana.

Nigeria’s Golden Eaglets will also participate in the tournament which will kick off on Saturday in Cape Coast.

The Golden Eaglets left Nigeria for Ghana on Wednesday as reported by footballghana.com

Referee Hope Igho, has refereed in significant games on the European level. Igho earned a certificate as a certified fitness teacher in 2015 before going on to get a Bachelor of Science in Education, Human Kinetics, from the University of Ilorin.

He earned a Master of Science in Education, Exercise Physiology, from the University of Lagos in 2021, and is currently a PhD student in exercise physiology at the University of Ibadan.

Referee Kassim Abdusalam of Zamfara State Council is a new addition to CAF’s referee’s lists.

The referees have successfully passed their medical and fitness tests in Ghana and are ready for the tournament.
