Former South African captain Lucas Radebe backs Bafana Bafana to qualify for 2023 AFCON
Former captain for the South Africa national team, Lucas Radebe has shared that he is confident the Bafana Bafana will qualify for the 2023 TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament.
The official draw for the group stage of the qualifiers for next year’s AFCON was held in Johannesburg last Tuesday in the studious of SuperSport.
At the end of the draw, South Africa was pitted in Group K to face Morocco, Zimbabwe, and Liberia.
While many share the view that it will be tough for South Africa, Lucas Radebe is optimistic the Bafana Bafana has enough quality to secure qualification at the end of the series.
“I’m very confident, I think we are capable of qualifying for AFCON but I think it’s very important that we beat Morocco because I think we have enough to deal with our neighbours, Zimbabwe,” he indicated.
The qualifiers for the 2023 AFCON are scheduled to commence next month.
