Ghana begin World Cup preparations with AFCON qualifiers
Ghana coach Otto Addo will use the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers as part of preparations for the World Cup tournament later this year.
The biggest soccer mundial will be staged in Qatar between November and December.
Ghana hosts Madagascar on Wednesday at the Cape Coast stadium in their opening Group E game of the 2023 AFCON qualifiers.
The Black Stars will have an eye on the World Cup and will use the qualifiers as part of preparations.
The games will give Otto Addo a fair idea about the squad to send to the World Cup tournament in Qatar.
Ghana will travel to Japan for the Kirin Cup after the AFCON qualifiers.
Otto Addo handed call ups to 33 players for the AFCON qualifiers and the Kirin Cup in Japan.
Ghana have been paired in Group H against Portugal, Uruguay and South Korea ahead of the World Cup.
The Black Stars will play Portugal before taking on South Korea and Uruguay.
