Ghana captain Andre Ayew not thinking about retirement at the moment
Ghana captain, Andre Ayew says it is unclear in his mind whether the 2022 FIFA World Cup will be his last or not.
According to the Al-Sadd SC forward, he is not thinking about hanging his boots at the moment.
Speaking to Joy Sports and asked whether the Qatar world cup could be his last for Ghana, Andre Ayew answered, “I don’t look further than what’s coming.
“I think what is important is to keep working, being fit, being able to play numerous games as I am doing. As long as I continue like this, I don’t have an issue.”
The 32-year-old is focused on staying fit and in good form to continue helping the Black Stars when needed.
“We look at a lot of squads – Africa, Europe, players are playing in the national team at 37, 38…So I am not looking at the age, I am looking at me being fit and performing well,” Andre Ayew shared.
The forward will be one of Ghana’s key players at the 2022 FIFA World Cup. At the Qatar tournament, the Black Stars have been drawn in Group H and will face Portugal, Uruguay, and South Korea.
