Ghana duo Richard Ofori and Kwame Peprah lose CAF Confederation Cup final with Orlando Pirates
Ghana internationals, Richard Ofori and Kwame Peprah featured for Orlando Pirates on Friday night when the team lost to RS Berkane in the CAF Confederation Cup final.
The duo has played key roles for the South African club this season not only in the Premier Soccer League but in t he continental inter-club competition.
In the semi-finals of the CAF Confederation Cup, both Richard Ofori and Kwame Peprah were heroes as they helped Orlando Pirates to advance to the finals.
Today, the two players were handed starting roles in the final against Moroccan outfit RS Berkane.
In a game where Pirates dominated in the 90 minutes, the team wasted a number of opportunities as the game ended in a stalemate
The extra time saw a lot of action with RS Berkane taking the lead in the first half. Staying focused in the final minutes of the second half of extra time, Orlando Pirates scored late in the game to force the match to be decided via the penalty shootout.
Unfortunately for Richard Ofori and Kwame Peprah, Orlando Pirates lost 5-4 to the opponent and hence missed out on winning this season’s CAF Confederation Cup title.
