Ghana FA pushing to conclude talks with Dortmund to announce Otto Addo as permanent Black Stars coach

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) per information gathered from sources is pushing to conclude talks with Borussia Dortmund to secure the services of Otto Addo as the permanent Black Stars head coach.

The German giants in March released Otto Addo on the interim to lead the Black Stars in the playoff tie of the African qualifiers for the 2022 FIFA World Cup tournament.

At the end of the two-legged encounter, Coach Otto Addo guided Ghana to overcome Nigeria to secure a place at this year’s FIFA World Cup.

With his quality on the touchline evident, the Ghana FA in the last few weeks has been engaging officials at Dortmund to try and convince the Germans to agree for Coach Otto Addo to take the Black Stars job on a permanent basis.

While the coach is keen on taking the Ghana job, he also wants to be able to work with Dortmund.

All parties involved are now discussing to find a way out. Source says talks have progressed smoothly but are yet to be concluded.

In the interest of the success of the Black Stars, a finality to the talks should be reached in the next week or two.

The Black Stars must prepare for the first match of the AFCON qualifiers against Madagascar scheduled to be played at the Cape Coast Stadium on June 1, 2022.
