Ghana forward Andre Ayew plays full throttle in Al-Sadd SC’s defeat at Al-Wehdat

Ghana international, Andre Ayew lasted 90 minutes on Tuesday when his Al-Sadd SC outfit suffered a 3-1 defeat at the hands of Al-Wehdat in the AFC Champions League.

The forward led the attack of the Qatari giants on the matchday as they aimed to record a second win in the competition against the Jordanian opponent in the space of days.

Unfortunately, it was not meant to be as a top display by the Al-Wehdat team saw the side brushing aside Al-Sadd SC.

The home team took the lead in the 48th minute thanks to a strike from Mohammed Al-Dmeiri.

Although Al-Sadd SC will respond six minutes later through an equaliser from Rodrigo Tabata, goals from Yousef Mohammed and Ahmed Samir propelled the hosts to secure the 3-1 win at the end of the 90 minutes.

The defeat is a setback for Al-Sadd SC who are now third on the AFC Champions League Group E table.

The team must aim for maximum points from the last two matches to stand any chance of progressing to the knockout stage of the competition.
