Ghana forward Bernard Tekpetey reveals reason for his top form in Bulgarian top-flight
Black Stars forward Bernard Tekpetey has explained his outstanding performance in the Bulgarian top-flight this season.
Tekpetey, who made a permanent switch from Schalke 04 to Ludogorets last season in a deal worth around €900,000 has been impressive this season, helping the club to clinch their 11th league triumph with 9 goals and 5 assists in 20 appearances.
This is better of his first spell in the Bulgarian top-tier last season where he managed two goals in 25 matches while playing on loan from Schalke 04.
Speaking to Kumasi-based Wontumi FM monitored by Footballghana.com, the enterprising forward indicated he has been able to adapt to life.
“I have enjoyed a descent campaign as compared to last season. Last season, my performance wasn’t on top because I was new to the environment, I had to adapt to life”
“But after knowing the players and other things at the club, I have been able to perform well. With hard work, I can say this season is far better than last season” he said.
Tekpetey will hope to make a return into the Black Stars ahead of the 2022 FIFA World Cup tournament in Qatar.
