Ghana midfielder Kudus Mohammed praises Kumasi fans; reiterates loyalty to the national team

Midfielder Kudus Mohammed has praised Kumasi fans for their turnout and unflinching support for Ghana’s World Cup playoffs against Nigeria on Friday.

The Baba Yara Stadium was filled to capacity on Friday as the Black Stars and Super Eagles drew 0-0 in the first leg of the 2022 World Cup playoff tie.

Kudus who made his return to the team after missing the 2021 AFCON was marvelled by the show of support from the fans in Kumasi.

Kudus also reiterated his loyalty to the Black Stars after the game with a poetic statement.

“The heart is referenced to braveness for a purpose. My palm on my chest means more than a pledge to my country,” he wrote.

“Every beat of my heart in sync with the anthem reminds me of how far I’ve come & why I’m here. It tells me, keep going until your last beat.

“When you are down, feel your heart’s rhythm & have a reason to never stop pumping like your heart. Oseikrom we felt the love. 29th it is!”

Black Stars are expected to travel to Abuja on Monday morning ahead of the second leg.

Ghana will face Nigeria at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium on Tuesday.

Ghana need a scoring draw or a win to eliminate their West African rivals and reach Qatar.
