Ghana midfielder Thomas Partey to miss Arsenal’s trip to Tottenham despite starting training
Ghana international, Thomas Partey will not be in the Arsenal matchday squad on Thursday when the team takes on Tottenham Hotspurs in the English Premier League.
The highly-rated midfielder has been out injured with a thigh injury he sustained during the EPL defeat to Crystal Palace back in April.
Although Thomas Partey has progressed from gym training to training with the ball on his own, he is still not ready to play, according to Arsenal manager Thomas Partey.
Speaking ahead of the game against Tottenham Hotspurs, the gaffer said although Thomas Partey is progressing very well, he is not expected to be in his matchday squad for the midweek encounter.
Earlier this month, Arteta commended Thomas Partey for his efforts to get back to full fitness to help the team.
“He has been out injured and sometimes he pushes too far in order to play and he gets injured again. He is willing to help again to play this season.
“We don’t know if that is going to be possible, but for sure it won’t be because of lack of intention from him,” Mikel Arteta said as quoted by football.london.
The match between Arsenal and Tottenham will kick off at 18:45 on Thursday.
