Ghana to test strength in friendly against USA before 2022 FIFA World Cup
Ghana will play a friendly match against the United States of America (USA) before proceeding to the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
Despite the troubles of the 2021 TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations Tournament, the Black Stars in March managed to overcome Nigeria’s Super Eagles in the playoff tie of the African qualifiers for global tournament.
Following the qualification, the West African giants are already planning ahead for what will be the national team’s fourth appearance at the world stage.
Today, information gathered indicates that the leadership of the football association in Ghana are in talks with their counterpart in the USA to arrange a friendly match.
Sources say talks have progressed well and the two national teams will be engaged in a warm up game in the months leading to the start of the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
It is understood that Ghana will also play another friendly with an European side before the World Cup commences in Qatar in November.
At the World Cup, Ghana is pitted in Group H where the Black Stars will play against Portugal, Uruguay, and South Korea,
